Artist and Writer in Residency

I am thrilled to announce, I have been selected to attend Chateau Orquevaux Artist Residency in France, with the honor of the  Denis Diderot Grant.  I have decided to dedicate this page, not only in support of the residency, but a place to show case work for sales and donations, videos and eventually record the residency as well.

Mission Statement: While I look forward to exploring and evolving in my writing and painting and most likely photography, the residency is more personal. It will be an in depth study of my ancestors of Medieval French Royalty. Ooh la la.  Featuring my current novel work in progress, Wolf Wild Heart, a historical fiction story on Anne of Kiev.

As with all my books, I like to paint portraits of my characters, because for me it helps develop a more intimate relationship wit the character. While some paintings have a more realistic feel, often my painting is not based on realism, but what I feel for each character at the comment.

The Humanity!

Picture
Yes, the arts are considered a humanity. It is the arts, which bring about our humanness.  We cannot escape it. Expressing ourselves through words, paint, song, dance, whatever, in doing so, we are shaping our world.

Exploring the human condition has always been my inspiration as a writer and an artist, and this exploration into ancestry is no different. There is no doubt, the DNA of our ancestors lives dormant (and sometimes not so dormant) within us. In some ways, I have the same DNA as Anne of Kiev, and the Capet Dynasty. In fact, I look like a Capet. (LOL). I also contain the DNA of William the Conqueror. Don't worry Hastings, I won't be visiting England this year. Ha!

Exploring our ancestry, honoring those who came before us offers us healing, so we can transform humanity's future.  We not only learn of historical characters, we learn of ourselves. This is my journey to discover, and my hope is to offer this inspiration to others to discover their stories.

Support the Arts - Support Humanity

Hey, we all need a little support! And I greatly appreciate the well-wishes and congratulations. I understand, many do not have the means to support the arts and even an artist, but if feel so inclined and inspired, any little bit would be much appreciated. If you have offered your support on GoFundMe, please contact me if interested in any of the below products.
