Love's Bloom

In the darkness of night the bud appears

Stretching upward like a strong spear

With the dawn of day petals emerge

Its full bloom resembles love’s surge

A beautiful sight for many to delight

That sometimes we hold onto too tight

The gentle breeze spreads the seeds

For hope more blossoms will succeed

But then the petals wilt and die

We mourn the beauty that passed us by

With devotion there’s always another

Waiting in the wings to be our lover

No mourning the ending of love’s time

Our blooming hearts’ is what’s most sublime.
